New York, NY – May 4 – Finster Baby is back and ready to write another chapter in their career with the release of their brand new single “It Don’t Matter”. If you have never heard of the band then here’s a little introduction that’s guaranteed to make a lasting impression, both from the music, and the four guys who have stuck it out on the New York club scene for the better part of the last twenty years.
Those old enough to remember the days of The Pool Bar, Continental, Limelight Rock n; Roll Church and RAW will surely recall Finster Baby with their hook-laden, sleazy hard-rock sound and their over-the-top S&M glam look. Singer Scott Ceffalia, guitarist Steve Raia, drummer Tony Passimenti and bassist Jim Mui formed the band in 1990 and have been a fixture in clubs ever since. They released their debut album “Take A Lick ‘An See” in 1992 on indie label Vagabond Record, who then licensed it to Mausoleum Record, where it soon fell into the black hole of label personnel changes and legal battles. The bright note on this is, two-decades later, there’s always someone paying obscene money on ebay to snap up one of the few copies still in existence.
Fast forward further into the reader’s digest version of band history and as the music changed, so did the band’s style. Heavier, more aggressive, angrier… When you’ve been screwed over by a record label you either channel the emotion or call it quits. Finster never quit. The chemistry among these four guys was just too good to throw away.
So here we are in 2015. Hot off the heels of opening for Faster Pussycat, Danger Danger, Rhino Bucket & That Metal Show‘s Don Jamieson, the wheels are once again churning for Finster. The single “It Don’t Matter” was released on April 24th. It will be followed by subsequent singles as they are recorded, culminating in the release of their new album entitled “Bullet Proof”.
But for now it all starts here. Check out “It Don’t Matter” and see why good things come to those who wait.
